Wednesdsy May 4th we are psyched to host some amazing artists from the RSVP tapes roster - RSVP Tapes is a cassette tape label focusing on home-recording styles, experimentation and aesthetic. Founded after being invited to play a basement show in Allston MA. RSVP Tapes has released 11 1hr tapes of experimental electronic music ranging from industrial drone, skweee, chiptune, noise and genres in between. Uniting homegrown bedroom recording artists with other like-minded international stars to share and explore collaboration through the interwebs. Radio Skotvoid, Forrest James and Qwill all met on the North Shore Of Boston, where underground electronic music thrives in small doses. We want to bring to you the electronic sound of Salem MA where thier story began.
Scott D Buchanan, organizes music events and is the owner of Rhythmus Records and RSVP Tapes. As a dj he has performed around New England with countless artists and shared stages with electronica, noise and chiptune acts, Scott will be bringing his knowledge of djing and improvisation to the table for a special one-off ableton live set spinning everything from skweee, juke, dub & acid.
Forrest James is an American Dream-Wave recording artist, producer, and composer. Forrest's sound is most associated with ambient electronica, chillwave, and experimental dub. Previously, he was a co-founding member of world-electronic group Machine 475. Forrest's work has been featured on Gizmodo, thedankles.com, Corbis.com, Hazyacres.com, RSVP Tapes, Secret Boston, Exhibitions and Podcasts at the Peabody Essex Museum, Tryptic Press, Lab De Loops (Brooklyn), Lynn Museum, and the Massart Film Society.
Jesse Ciarmataro, aka Qwill, is a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and multi-genre music producer currently based in Salem, Massachusetts. Qwill is currently supporting his most recent self produced EP entitled “Phoenix” on his own label, Simple Truth Records. Also included are two alternate remixes; “Phoenix” by Fishing The Sky and “Swallowed” by Forrest James, along with a co-produced song “Never Said” with Boston ambient artist ElderFlux. His new “Phoenix” EP clearly defines the direction of future work and yet another point in the ever-evolving style of Qwill.
